Tugging the Heartstrings

I don’t know if it’s my age or if advertisers are just getting better at tugging at the heartstrings, but I’m finding myself welling up at more and more adverts recently. It’s getting really embarrassing as my flatmate and boyfriend totally take the mickey when they hear me sniffing and trying to hide the tears when one of the sad ones come on.
